Sydney Adventist Hospital’s Integrated Cancer Centre (The San ICC), which operates in partnership with Radiation Oncology Centres (ROC) Wahroonga, achieved the best overall results of any outpatient cancer treatment facility in New South Wales in the 2017 Outpatient Cancer Clinics Survey, according to results published this week by the Bureau of Health Information.

The survey, which captured feedback from more than 11,000 patients, asked participants to evaluate their experience at one of 50 cancer treatment facilities across New South Wales during November 2017. Results were published for 39 facilities where there was a sufficient response rate for reporting at this level.

The San ICC achieved results significantly better than the overall New South Wales result across 25 of the measures assessed, including questions about facility comfort and cleanliness, confidence and trust in the centre’s health professionals, and the adequacy of information provided to patients about their treatment options and possible side effects.

The San ICC offers a comprehensive approach to cancer care for the local community, including medical oncology and radiation oncology services under the one roof. Radiation oncology services are provided by ROC, which is part of Icon Group.

“ROC have been delivering radiation services at Sydney Adventist Hospital for over 30 years and we are proud to partner with them to deliver the best possible cancer care, close to home,” says Dr Andrew Fong, Radiation Oncologist, ROC.

“These outstanding results are a testament to the cancer team at The San and ROC and reflect our shared commitment to providing a personalised and holistic approach to care that keeps patients and their needs at the centre of everything we do.”
