Icon Group has today extended its relationship with Varian Medical Systems to include Siemens Healthineers Australia and New Zealand. This extension will see the most advanced oncology imaging solutions rolled out across Icon’s expanding healthcare network.
Siemens Healthineers’ recent acquisition of Varian Medical Systems adds new weight to the signing of this agreement, which extends on the announcement that Icon will be purchasing 30 Varian linear accelerators to meet the company’s global growth. The strength of Icon’s partnership with both Siemens and Varian will ensure some of the most underserved regions globally will be able to access the latest state-of-the-art technology to receive world-class cancer care.
“Icon Group is delighted to announce our continued partnership with Siemens Healthineers and see our key cancer technology partners aligned under the one banner. Icon’s collaboration with Siemens Healthineers and Varian is truly making a difference to the global cancer burden, bringing world-class care to places and people that are underserviced in regional Australia and Asia. Knowing we are keeping people close to home during their cancer treatment without compromising outcomes is something I know we are all very proud of,” said Mark Middleton, Icon Group CEO.
The collaboration also aims to progress next generation research and development to embrace new modalities and clinical evolutions in the radiation oncology market.
“Together with Varian, we have established a global leader in healthcare with a comprehensive portfolio to fight cancer. This combination further strengthens our ability as a partner to help transform cancer care delivery and outcomes for many Australians.”
The MoU covers a period of 12 months.
