About the role:

We are recruiting a Senior Accountant on a permanent full-time basis to perform financial accounting and reporting to meet management and statutory requirements, including the delivery of timely and accurate financial information

Key responsibilities: 
  • Oversee the month end processing, including preparation of general journals and accrual entries
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation 
  • Preparation of monthly reports
  • Reconciling intercompany accounts
  • Supporting the year end and audit processes and preparation of statutory accounts
  • Assist with the formulation of accounting/business policies and procedures
  • Assist with the management and maintenance of reporting systems
  • Assist with monthly KPI reporting and quarterly/annual statistical data 
  • Assist and oversee work on an assistant accountant and accounts receivable
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required

Additional responsibilities for Senior Accountant: 
  • Assist with preparing and delivering accurate financial reports for review
  • Assist with GST and FBT returns including all calculations, reconciliations and lodgements
  • Assist with cashflow reporting and the forecasting and budgeting process
  • Review the work of employees and ensure all entries are made correctly for monthly, quarterly and interim/year-end reporting
About you:

We are seeking a passionate accountant who is willing to work in a team and have the ability to prioritise their workload in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail along with effective communication and problem-solving skills are required to succeed in these roles.

Other requirements: 
  • Tertiary qualifications in business / commerce
  • CA / CPA qualifications 
  • Previous experience in a commercial FMCG, Big 4 or top tier accounting environment 
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, FBT, GST, PAYG, payroll tax and workers compensation
