The opportunity:
This is a permanent full-time opportunity to join our dedicated and skilful Port Augusta Hospital pharmacy team in a role with a primary focus on clinical pharmacy services, education and medication supply to the hospital and associated outreach sites.

Being situated approx. three hours drive from Adelaide, the hospital is used as a teaching base for paediatric medicine by the University of Adelaide as well as for providing pharmacy students with experience in hospital pharmacy practice in a key regional setting. .Extensive recreational opportunities exist around Port Augusta including water sports and fishing, as well as bush walking and camping in the beautiful and unspoiled Flinders Ranges.

Key responsibilities: 
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients
  • Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy support to patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
  • Educate and advise staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the proper use of medicines
  • Perform as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Prepare Best Possible Medication History lists for hospital inpatients.
  • Contribute to medication safety and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with medical and nursing staff
  • Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products.
  • Coordinate patient medication requirements
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented pharmacist who can deliver an exceptional standard of patient service with sensitivity, compassion, and professionalism. You will have high attention to detail and strong time management and prioritisation skills. 

You’ll:
  • Be a current AHPRA registered pharmacist with previous experience in an Australian based pharmacy
  • Experience as a clinical pharmacist with hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • Have time management, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Be flexible and adaptable working with a diverse team
  • Embrace change and commit to learning
  • Value attention to detail and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Previous dispensing/clinical experience in an Australian based hospital or community pharmacy is essential.
