Administration Team Leader - Icon Cancer Centre South Brisbane


Lead a team that helps make every patient interaction count. As Administration Team Leader at Icon Cancer Centre South Brisbane, you'll support a high-performing administration team while ensuring patients and their families receive compassionate, professional care from the moment they arrive.
  
About the Role
As our Administration Team Leader, you'll lead and support a team of administration professionals responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our cancer centre's reception, patient administration and billing functions.
Working closely with the Site Manager and clinical teams, you'll help coordinate patient journeys, support team performance and ensure our patients, doctors and visitors receive exceptional service at every interaction.
  
You'll be responsible for:
  • Leading, coaching and supporting the administration team
  • Preparing team rosters and helping optimise resources across the centre
  • Fostering a positive and collaborative team culture
  • Supporting performance reviews, onboarding and ongoing team development
  • Ensuring a welcoming and professional reception experience for patients and visitors
  • Coordinating patient appointments and assisting with treatment scheduling
  • Managing patient administration, invoicing and Medicare processing
  • Supporting accurate billing, health fund claims and payment processing
  • Building strong relationships with clinicians, patients, carers and business partners
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the patient experience  
About You
You'll bring previous experience in a medical, hospital or specialist practice environment, combined with the confidence to lead a team and drive high service standards.
  
We're looking for someone who has:
  • Experience in medical reception, healthcare administration or hospital administration
  • Experience using patient management or practice management systems
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience supervising or mentoring team members highly regarded
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate, professional approach
  • Confidence managing competing priorities in a busy healthcare environment
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional patient and customer experiences
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications
