About the Role
We are looking for motivated and patient focused pharmacists to join our team at Slade Pharmacy Richmond, located within Epworth Hospital. These casual roles provide flexibility and a unique opportunity to work across both clinical and dispensary settings depending on your preferences.

As part of the Clinical service, you will work closely with medical, nursing, and allied health staff to deliver high quality, evidence-based care. You will support medication reviews, reconciliation, counselling, and therapeutic recommendations across a range of wards and specialties.

Within the Dispensary and Retail Pharmacy team, you will gain experience supporting inpatient and outpatient dispensing, retail customer service, discharge counselling, day infusion medication preparation, and coordination of medication profiles.

This combined model offers variety, skill development, and exposure to both front line clinical care and the operational pharmacy environment.

Key Responsibilities
As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will:
  • Deliver clinical pharmacy services including chart reviews, medication reconciliation, documentation of allergies and adverse drug reactions.
  • Provide timely, evidence-based medication advice to clinical teams.
  • Counsel patients and carers on prescribed therapies and promote safe medication use.
    Participate in clinical rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Identify and resolve medication related problems in collaboration with prescribers.
  • Support medication safety initiatives, audits, and quality improvement activities.
  • Assist with training pharmacy interns, students, and technicians.

As a Dispensary Pharmacist, you will:
  • Dispense and supply medications for inpatients, outpatients, and community customers.
  • Coordinate medication needs for inpatient stays, discharge, and day infusion therapies.
    Prepare and provide discharge medication profiles.
  • Counsel patients on newly prescribed and discharge medications.
  • Provide guidance on health promotion, disease prevention, and medicine use.
  • Support safe and ethical use of medications including specialised and compassionate supply items.
  • Work effectively within a large retail pharmacy and hospital dispensary environment.

About You
You are an AHPRA registered pharmacist with experience in either a community or hospital pharmacy. You enjoy working with patients and clinical teams, communicate well, and feel comfortable adapting to a busy hospital environment. You are committed to safe medication practices, open to learning, and interested in developing your skills across clinical and dispensary services.

Key Requirements:
  • General registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA.
  • Experience in an Australian community or hospital pharmacy.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and work independently when needed.
  • Willingness to learn and grow across both clinical and dispensary activities.
