Reporting to the Team Leader Clinical Coding, you will accurately code patient admissions and help maintain the quality and integrity of Icon’s health information.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing medical records and identifying diagnoses, procedures and treatments
- Coding with ICD-10-AM and ACHI 13th Edition
- Undertaking AR-DRG grouping activities
- Completing Cancer Registry notifications
- Clarifying incomplete or inconsistent clinical documentation
- Supporting coding quality reviews and process improvements
- Collaborating with clinicians and Health Information Services colleagues
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy
You are an experienced Clinical Coder who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. You are comfortable working independently while contributing to a connected and collaborative team.
You will bring:
- A formal qualification in Clinical Coding
- At least three years of clinical coding experience
- Experience using ICD-10-AM and ACHI 13th Edition
- A strong understanding of AR-DRGs and medical terminology
- Excellent accuracy, analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Confidence using healthcare information systems
A tertiary qualification in Health Information Management and eligibility for HIMAA membership are desirable but not essential.
