Director of Pharmacy




Are you ready to take on a pivotal role that combines strategic vision, operational leadership and development, and client relationship management?
  
We’re seeking an experienced leader to serve as the vital link between a network of our pharmacies and the Epworth Hospital Group. Based at our flagship pharmacy – Slade Pharmacy Richmond and includes oversight of services to Epworth Richmond, Epworth Eastern, Epworth Camberwell, Epworth Freemasons and Epworth Geelong. This high-impact role reports to the State General Manager and offers the opportunity to shape the way we service and support our patients, customers and partners.

The permanent full-time position exists to deliver:

Operational Oversight:
  • Deliver contemporaneous/best practice pharmacy services to ensure safe and high-quality care for patients
  • Lead and co-ordinate contracted clinical and operational activities through the development and support of multiple pharmacy site leadership teams.
  • Ensure pharmacies operate successfully and meet agreed clinical, operational and business performance targets.
  • Monitor performance business and contract metrics across the pharmacies to ensure alignment with hospital objectives, patient satisfaction, and regulatory standards.
  • Fostering innovation and leading projects that improve workflows, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and execute strategies to strengthen the collaboration between pharmacies in our network
  • Identify and capitalise on opportunities to enhance and improve patient care and operational efficiencies.
Relationship Management:
  • Act as the primary liaison, cultivating trust and alignment between pharmacy leadership, hospital executives, and key stakeholders.
  • Manage escalations and resolve conflicts with professionalism and tact.
Team Development:
  • Promote and foster a team-based culture that supports and encourages staff engagement, development and career advancement
  • Coach and mentor pharmacy leaders to support their teams most effectively
  • Oversee and implement recruitment and training initiatives.
Compliance and Governance:
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, policies, and best practices across all elements of the pharmacy service.
  • Work collaboratively to anticipate and mitigate risks.
We’re looking for proven leadership experience within a large hospital network, a track record of driving organisational outcomes and leading diverse teams.  Exceptional communication with well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to influence at all levels are essential. You will be business-minded and people focused, with a proven leadership background.
