We are looking to appoint an Employee Relations Advisor.  This is a permanent full-time position, based at our global head office in South Brisbane (close to all public transport and across the road from Messina if you have a sweet tooth and already know the area).

As a member of our Employee Relations team, this role will be essential in supporting our employees and leaders throughout Australia and New Zealand. The team provides operational guidance and advice on delivering employee relations and industrial relations advisory services to the Group. Indicative duties of the position include, however is not limited to:

  • Provide advice, guidance and support to employees and leaders in relation to general employee relations matters including but not limited to advice on: HR Policy and Process; employee entitlements under employment law or industrial instruments; managing employee performance and conduct matters; discipline and grievance processes.
  • Draft and advise on employment contract documentation and onboarding documentation.
  • Interpret and advise on modern awards, enterprise agreements and statutory employment entitlements.
  • Prepare concise and timely written advice and reports as required.
  • Undertake case management of performance and conduct matters as well as complex case management matters and workplace grievances.
  • Represent Icon Group at conciliation conferences in the Fair Work Commission in unfair dismissal or similar matters.
  • Provide assistance and support in HR project work, HR policy governance/development and enterprise bargaining activities.
  • Diligent record keeping, maintenance of personnel files, including safeguarding the privacy of key stakeholders and the confidentiality of their records.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian Employment Law and relevant awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Identify and contribute to HR process improvement.
  • Role model Icon behaviours and culture, working in collaboration with key stakeholders, partners and HR team members.
  • Comply with all Icon Group policies and procedures.
  • Support employee relations teams projects as required from time to time.
