The Opportunity:
Are you currently working for a high volume, discount chemist retailer and looking for your chance to further diversify your career into a hospital or specialist pharmacy?

We currently have a 6-month max term part-time contract available for a pharmacist to work within our team at Slade Pharmacy in Epworth Private Hospital, Richmond. We employ on a regular basis, so please submit your expression of interest if you'd like to be considered for a position with our Richmond team.

The roster for this part-time position is from 5:00pm – 10:00pm Monday to Friday, 5 nights per week, with the occasional Saturday or Sunday shift when necessary.

This is an amazing opportunity to get your foot in the door and upskill by working in specialised areas such as clinical pharmacy, oncology, IVF and both sterile and non-sterile compounding, and you’ll be supported by a leader who is deeply committed to creating learning pathways and development opportunities for all individuals within the team.

Community and hospital pharmacists are encouraged to apply. We will provide you with hands-on training to assist in your professional development and transition to hospital pharmacy.

In this role, you’ll:
  • Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products
  • Create and provide medication profiles to patients on discharge
  • Counsel hospital patients on discharge medications
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients
  • Support patients, carers, and hospital staff through the patient journey
  • Educate and advise staff and patients on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the proper use of medicines

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a passionate and motivated pharmacist who is eager to further develop their career by delivering exceptional pharmacy services to our patients.
Our ideal candidate will:
  • Be a pharmacist with current AHPRA general registration.
  • Have previous experience working as a pharmacist in an Australian or New Zealand based pharmacy. 
  • Have availability evenings from 5:00pm until 10:00pm Monday to Friday with a willingness to be flexible with rostering requirements and work the occasional Saturday or Sunday evening.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to work within diverse teams. 
  • Possess strong knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). 
  • Be able to demonstrate strong time management, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be ready to embrace change and commit to lifelong learning.
  • Value attention to detail and able to work autonomously.
