Hospital Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Student | Slade Pharmacy




The Opportunity:
We have 2 part-time opportunities for a Pharmacy Technician or a Pharmacy Student to join our supportive and collaborative team at Mulgrave Private Hospital. Working each Saturday, you’ll make a real difference to the lives of patients and deliver exceptional pharmacy services to the hospital.

You will be working closely with a collaborative, multidisciplinary team of experienced and enthusiastic pharmacists who are excited to share their knowledge, guidance and support, through hands-on training in hospital pharmacy services.

This is a permanent part-time position, working each Saturday. The start and finish times each Saturday vary on a bi-weekly basis, as follows:
Week 1 - 9:30 AM to 4:30PM
Week 2 - 8:00AM to 5:00PM

In this role, you’ll:
  • Receive, dispense and supply medications for hospital inpatients and outpatients
  • Assist in processing and maintaining imprest levels, and managing hospital ward stock
  • Reconcile and manage prescriptions and patient medication discharge profiles
  • Provide support and customer service to patients, carers and hospital staff
  • Assist with S2/S3 sales
  • Support the pharmacist
  • Provide support for phone enquiries
  • Process PBS claims and assist in producing medication profiles to hospital patients on discharge
  • Confidently complete administrative and record keeping duties
  • Assist with patient account enquiries

Slade Pharmacy Mulgrave is conveniently located near the front entrance of Mulgrave Private Hospital. Our pharmacy provides a wide range of medications, alongside expert advice delivered by an experienced pharmacy team. The pharmacy specialises in general health and wellbeing, cardiac services, post-op recovery and support care. Slade Pharmacy is a proud part of Icon Group.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Previous experience dispensing medication in an Australian or New Zealand pharmacy
  • Experience and knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)
  • Knowledge of S2/S3 medications
