  • Position: Hospital Pharmacy Technician, Slade Pharmacy, Whyalla Hospital and Health Service, SA.
  • Employment Type: Permanent, Part-Time (50 hours per fortnight).

About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join Slade Pharmacy’s dedicated team at Whyalla Hospital. You’ll play a key role in the dispensing and supply of medications for hospital and oncology patients.
Working closely with experienced clinical pharmacists and technicians, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a hospital environment focused on patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high level pharmacy services to the hospital staff, patients and customers
  • Dispense and supply medications for hospital and oncology patients
  • Assist with imprest and pharmacy inventory management
  • Undertake delivery and collection of medications to hospital wards  
  • Complete data entry of patient specific information into database
  • Assist with patient account enquiries
  • Liaise with hospital staff and associated employees
  • Assist the pharmacy teams with any general administration

About You

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented pharmacy technician who thrives in a hospital setting and is keen to support oncology services. You’ll be someone who values accuracy, safety, and teamwork, and is committed to delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing cancer treatment.

Essential Requirements:
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to build positive working relationships across multidisciplinary teams
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance, especially when handling cytotoxic and high-cost medicines
  • A proactive approach to learning and professional development
  • Confidence in working independently while knowing when to seek guidance
  • A respectful and professional communication style, with sensitivity to patient needs and confidentiality

While hospital experience is desirable, it is not strictly necessary. If you're adaptable, motivated to learn, have a can-do attitude and are looking for your next step into the wonderful world of hospital pharmacy, then this is the job for you!
