Medical Administration / Reception – Icon Cancer Centre & 5D Clinics Macquarie Park - Radiation Oncology Treatment Centre

Introducing Icon Cancer Centre and 5D Clinics, Macquarie Park (MUH)
As part of Icon’s commitment to delivering world‑class cancer care closer to home, we’re proud to announce the opening of our new Cancer Care Centre based at Macquarie University Hospital. As an Australian-first Stereotactic Centre of Excellence, the Centre will deliver advanced radiation oncology treatments using state‑of‑the‑art technology. This facility creates a unique opportunity for clinicians, becoming the only health precinct in Australia to house and operate across 5D Clinics CyberKnife, Gamma Knife and Linear Accelerator platforms within a single integrated centre.
  
About the Role
As the first point of contact for patients, you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and administrative support. Reporting to the Administration Manager, you’ll assist with patient scheduling, billing, records management, and general reception duties in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
  
This is a permanent full-time role, working weekday business hours with flexibility around your preferred days. Additional shifts may be available to cover staff absences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients and collect personal details.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to enquiries.
  • Process billing (Medicare, DVA, Private Health).
  • Discuss out-of-pocket costs and obtain patient consents.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and support clinical staff.
  • Assist with administrative tasks for doctors and visiting medical officers.
  • Uphold Icon’s values and contribute to a positive patient experience.
About You
You’re a warm and organised individual with a passion for helping others. You thrive in a team environment and bring a proactive, professional approach to every interaction. Experience in medical administration is highly desirable, especially in oncology or high-care settings.

Skills & Experience
  • Experience in a medical administration or reception role (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Medicare, DVA, and private health billing.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology.  
5D Clinics
5D Clinics operates Australia’s first dedicated private Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) clinic, located in Claremont, Western Australia. For several years, this was the only private SRS centre of its kind in the country, delivering a six‑star patient experience using CyberKnife® technology.
With the addition of the new Melbourne (Cremorne) site, 5D Clinics now extends its leadership and expertise across multiple locations. Drawing on its established clinical, operational and commissioning experience, 5D Clinics provides specialist services in the implementation, planning and operation of CyberKnife® systems nationwide.
