The opportunity  
We are seeking motivated individuals for a casual Medical Admin/Secretary with an hourly rate of $42.00, and a dynamic work setting at Icon Cancer Centre, Southport, this is more than just a job.

This is no ordinary Medical Admin position. You’ll be at the heart of a connected team, combining ReceptionPractice Management, and Secretarial Duties to provide seamless care for patients and vital support for a dedicated group of healthcare professionals.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  
Reception & Patient Care
  • Be the welcoming face and voice for patients, ensuring they feel supported every step of the way.
  • Manage patient admissions, verify private healthcare details, and process co-pays and other payments.
  • Oversee patient flow, ensuring a smooth experience from arrival to departure.
Administrative Excellence
  • Rotate between front reception and day hospital reception, taking on early and late shifts as needed.
  • Update and maintain accurate patient records, referrals, and treatment details.
  • Organise theatre and hospital bookings using cutting-edge systems like CHARM and Totalcare.
Collaboration & Leadership
  • Work closely with our team of doctors and support staff to deliver exceptional service.
  • Actively support workplace health and safety (WHS) initiatives and embody Icon’s values in your daily interactions.
About You:

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Proficiency in Medicare, DVA, and Private Health Insurance processes.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • client-first mindset and a passion for delivering excellent service.
  • A basic understanding of medical terminology (bonus points if you have experience in a similar role).
