About the Roles
We’re currently recruiting for two full-time positions at our Slade Pharmacy located within Epworth Private Hospital in Geelong. Join our friendly and supportive team in one of the following roles:
  1. Pharmacy Assistant – Front of House (FOH)
    This role is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills and prior pharmacy assistant experience. You will support patients, handle over-the-counter medicine enquiries, and assist with stock management and pharmacy operations.
    No dispensing experience is required.
  2. Pharmacy Assistant/Technician – Hybrid Role
    This is a unique opportunity to perform both pharmacy assistant and technician duties. In addition to FOH tasks, you will assist in dispensing medications for hospital inpatients and outpatients.
    Previous dispensing experience in an Australian or New Zealand-based pharmacy is essential.
These are excellent opportunities to grow within a hospital environment - whether you're upskilling from retail pharmacy or stepping into a more advanced technical role. Please indicate your preferred position (Pharmacy Assistant or Pharmacy Assistant/Technician) when submitting your application.

Key Responsibilities (varies by role):
For both roles:
  • Assist in the sale of S2 and S3 medicines with appropriate knowledge
  • Provide customer service and assist with general patient or staff enquiries
  • Replenish stock and manage inventory within the pharmacy and hospital
  • Process orders and undertake general administrative or support tasks
  • Liaise with hospital staff and contribute to daily pharmacy operations
Additional duties for the hybrid role:
  • Dispense medications under supervision for hospital inpatients and outpatients
Who Are We Looking For?
We’re seeking enthusiastic and professional individuals who are passionate about delivering modern, patient-focused pharmacy services in a hospital setting. Our ideal candidate(s) will need to meet the following key requirements:

Key Requirements
Pharmacy Assistant (FOH):
  • Previous experience as a pharmacy assistant (retail or hospital)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Experience using POS systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • A genuine interest in patient care and pharmacy services
Pharmacy Assistant/Technician (Hybrid):
  • Prior dispensing experience in a pharmacy based in Australia or New Zealand (essential)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Familiarity with pharmacy procedures and medication supply
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
For both roles:
  • Professionalism, confidentiality, and sensitivity when addressing patient needs
  • Permanent Australian working rights

Epworth Geelong, part of the Epworth Healthcare network, is a growing private hospital with approximately 170 beds. It offers a comprehensive range of specialties, including oncology, surgery, general medical care, intensive care (ICU), coronary care and cardiac services (CCU), renal services, sub-acute rehabilitation, pain management, ophthalmology, respiratory care, palliative care, and outpatient IVF services. The hospital also features a medium-sized retail pharmacy that provides seven-day service, catering to both outpatients and the wider community.
