We are looking for a Pharmacy Student to join our team at Slade Pharmacy, Mater Private Hospital Townsville in Pimlico. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with healthcare professionals, gain invaluable hospital experience, and deliver optimum patient-centred care and pharmacy operations.

About the Role
Key Responsibilities
  • Dispensing medications
  • Counselling patients on over-the-counter medicines
  • Learn to mix cancer therapies in a drug safety cabinet or using a closed-system safety device
  • Assist with customer and clinic queries
  • Provide administrative duties and support
  • Process orders and manage inventory
  
Shift Information
Approximately a 3-hour shift 03:00pm – 06:00pm shift once a week, with the aim of transitioning into a weekend casual role once fully trained.
  
Site Information
Mater Private Hospital, Townsville (Pimlico) is a 200-bed leading contemporary medical facility, including a dedicated Women’s and Children’s Units, an Emergency Department, and the largest private cardiac presence north of Brisbane.
  
About You
Essential Requirements
  • Current enrolment in pharmacy studies at a recognised Australian University
  • Be able to address client needs with confidentiality, sensitivity and professionalism
  • The ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Australian working rights
  
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Dispensing experience in an Australian based hospital or community pharmacy
