Bowen Icon Cancer Centre in Wellington is seeking an experienced cancer nurse to join our purpose-driven team. In this role, you will administer chemotherapy and other systemic anti‑cancer treatments in our seven-chair day unit, while also providing compassionate, coordinated and evidence-based nursing advice, support and manaakitanga to patients and whānau throughout their treatment journey.
  
Kōrero mō te tūranga — About the Role
This position reports to our Nurse Manager and operates Monday–Friday, 8.00am–5.00pm, with a rostered day off each fortnight. Part‑time arrangements may be available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Deliver systemic anti-cancer treatments and supportive therapies with confidence and clinical skill
  • Collaborate with nursing leaders to support daily service operations
  • Maintain strong, compassionate communication with patients, whānau and healthcare team
  • Contribute to a positive, high‑performance, patient‑centred culture
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and uphold national standards
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and support colleagues in their learning
  • Practice in a culturally safe way that gives effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Assist with the delivery of clinical trials treatment

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Our ideal candidate will:
  • Be registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and have a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Demonstrate competency in the administration of systemic anti‑cancer and supportive therapies
  • Be a collaborative team player with strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in clinical trials and an interest in nursing development and education is highly desirable.
