Our Comprehensive Cancer Care & Treatment centre in Windsor Gardens is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team within our Radiation Oncology ward.
Our integrated site offers treatment across Medical Oncology, Haematology, Radiation Therapy & Clinical Trials. Whilst this role is predominately needed to support our radiation oncology patients, there is the opportunity to work across all areas – so whether you are a chemo nurse looking to up-skill into radiation oncology consultative nursing, or vice versa, this might be the perfect opportunity for you!

About the role:
This RN role is responsible for providing nursing care to patients receiving Radiotherapy and will report to the Nurse Manager. The role involves assessing, reviewing and implementing care plans to patients receiving treatment.
The Nursing role has a great level of autonomy, while still working within a close and supportive team. It is a greatly rewarding role which provides great opportunities to build positive rapports with our patients.
The role of a Registered Nurse at Icon is invaluable, through clinically assessing, providing education, supporting patients with physical side effects, emotional support and referrals to allied health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with key doctor to deliver personalized care to patients, from consultation to follow-up.
- Serve as a patient navigator, guiding patients through their treatment journey, addressing concerns, and ensuring a smooth experience.
- Assist in coordinating and managing patient care, including assessments, treatment planning, and follow-up appointments.
- Engage with referrers to ensure timely communication and updates on patient progress.
- Act as a liaison between patients, doctors, and the clinical team, ensuring continuity of care.
- Support multidisciplinary meetings, including preparation of clinical notes and summaries.
- Participate in ongoing education and training as part of the Icon team.
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
- Experience in radiation oncology – 2 years minimum.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate and patient-centred approach.
