The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for 2 Registered Nurses to join our team at the Icon Cancer Centre Windsor Gardens, primarily based in medical oncology/haematology departments within the Medical Oncology Day Hospital.
This position will report to the Nurse Manager and will focus on the delivery of exceptional personalised cancer care to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
- Contribute expert advice and demonstrate contemporary nursing knowledge and skill in oncology nursing practice in accordance with current legislation and professional standards and codes of practice.
- Monitoring and administering medication and intravenous anticancer infusions.
- Patient assessment, observation and education including expert management of treatment related side effects.
- Inserting and care of peripheral and central access devices.
- Assisting doctors with procedures and providing pre and post procedure care and education.
- Maintaining and updating patients written and electronic records.
- Providing emotional support to patients, families and carers.
- Support the Nurse Manager in the day-to-day operations.
- Support a high-performance culture that delivers quality patient care services through a patient centric and collaborative approach.
About You
To ensure our cancer centre at Windsor Gardens delivers an exceptional experience for patients, their families, doctors and staff, we are seeking candidates who consistently demonstrates values that are aligned to those of the organisation, has flexibility and a ‘can-do’ attitude. Experience in IV cannulation, knowledge of chemotherapy and supportive therapies is required.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Within Medical Oncology, this position involves the administration of chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and related blood and supportive treatments. If cross skilled there will be potential opportunity to work across both the Medical Oncology Day Hospital and the Radiation Oncology Departments - or any opportunity for cross training if this is an interest!
- 2 years recent experience in medical oncology/ haematology (desirable)
- Current AHPRA registration
- Demonstrate a commitment to the provision of exceptional patient centred care.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and positively as a member of the multidisciplinary team.

- 14 chair day oncology hospital, offering chemotherapy, targeted therapies and immunotherapy
- Scalp cooling system – Cooling cap available to help reduce hair loss during chemotherapy treatment
- Radiation Therapy treatments using our state-of-the-art linear accelerator and superficial skin Xray machine
- Treatment for malignant and non-malignant blood disorders, including administration of supportive therapies and blood products such as hormone treatments, bisphosphonates and iron infusions
- Minor procedures for diagnostic and prognostic purposes
- Access to clinical trials
