The opportunity:
We are looking for a permanent full-time Rotational Pharmacist to join our Slade Pharmacy network, working on-site with our specialty hospital and clinical teams across a diverse range of hospital pharmacies in the Newcastle/Hunter region, NSW. This role will also include work across the Central and Mid-North Coast regions, and even Sydney (less frequently).

At Slade, you will work with forward thinking multidisciplinary teams of connected, caring people to deliver exceptional pharmacy services for our client hospitals and their patients.

This Rotational Pharmacist role will see you working at our sites located in the Slade Pharmacy network to cover periods of pharmacist leave while developing new skills and knowledge across our range of specialties. This is a rare and exciting opportunity, so apply now!

In this role, you’ll:
  • Conduct medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation 
  • Dispense and supply medication and medication profiles 
  • Coordinate patient medication requirements for inpatient stay, day infusions and discharge 
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients 
  • Support patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees 
  • Educate and advise staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the proper use of medicines

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an adaptable Pharmacist who has strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise workload in order to deliver the best possible care to patients. You will also have the ability to work autonomously and with various teams. Community pharmacists, newly registered (or soon to be registered) pharmacists are encouraged to apply, full training will be provided for the successful applicant.

While you will be visiting our various sites, you will be required to have a current Drivers Licence and roadworthy car. 

You will also:
  • Be a current AHPRA registered pharmacist with previous experience in an Australian based pharmacy. Pharmacy interns awaiting general registration from AHPRA are also encouraged to apply.
  • Possess a roadworthy vehicle registered in NSW, in addition to a valid NSW Driver’s Licence.
  • Strong knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
  • Have time management, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be flexible and adaptable working with a diverse team.
  • Embrace change and commit to learning.
  • Value attention to detail and able to work autonomously.
 
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Dispensing experience in an Australian based hospital or community pharmacy
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to your own transport is required for this role.
