About the Role:
We are looking for a new Senior Finance Officer to join our finance team supporting our Aus/NZ Cancer Care division.

The short and sweet basis of this role is to complete and analyse financial information through collaboration with the finance team to ensure timely, accurate and appropriate information.

This role reports to the Financial Controller – Cancer Services AU
This is a 12 month contract position, based in Icon’s global head office in South Brisbane, business precinct
  
Key Responsibilities of the role, and team, include:

Technical and Operational

End of month activities as outlined in the finance timetable including but not limited to:

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage the receipting of payments for VMO’s and Hospitals
  • Process weekly payments following reconciliation of remittances
  • Populate and balance the Doctor’s EFT spreadsheet
  • Process refunds and transfers as directed
  • Provide advice and field enquiry calls in relation to doctor’s invoices, payments or health funds
  • Balance cash, cheque and credit card transactions
  • Reconcile EFTPOS transactions to daily banking reports
  • Monitor the clearing account for EFT payments received from health funds, and reconcile with all relevant practice management systems
  • Assist with management of hospital and medical debt
  • Support the year end audit process
  • Assist with the formulation of accounting/business policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to and applied consistently.

  • Be an active and contributing member of your team and your team’s overall performance to ensure the core values are consistently demonstrated
  • Participate in on-the-job training and development programs to ensure knowledge and skills are adequate to fulfil operational requirements
  • Be an active participant in the Performance and Grow program
Selection Criteria
  • Diploma or Degree qualification in Accounting or relevant qualification or working towards
  • Intermediate computer literacy (particularly word, excel and email) combined with sound keyboarding skills
  • Proven ability to prioritise workload and forward plan to ensure work and information is complete and commitments are fulfilled
  • Proven ability to work independently while being able to build collaborative relationships to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with customers, clients and colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and independently solve problems whilst ensuring service standards are not compromised
  • Commitment to personal responsibility, accountable for actions taken and a high attention to detail
  • Some knowledge of GST and PAYG
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service in the provision of a high quality service that meets or exceeds customer expectations
  • Demonstrated willingness to share ideas and perspectives
