About the Senior Financial Accountant role
This permanent full-time position is based at our Global Head Office in South Brisbane and reports directly to the Group Financial Controller.
As Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Group’s financial integrity, consolidation processes and strategic growth initiatives. You will contribute to strengthening financial operations across a complex and expanding international organisation.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and support members of the Group Accounting team
- Prepare group-level general journals and accruals, including consolidation and corporate services entities
- Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations with robust supporting documentation
- Deliver monthly management reports with insightful variance analysis to key divisions
- Investigate, interpret and clearly communicate financial results across the organisation
- Identify and resolve accounting matters arising from projects and new initiatives
- Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Support insurance renewal processes and maintain accurate records
- Prepare year-end statutory financial statements
You are technically strong, commercially aware and comfortable operating in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
You will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or CA qualification (preferred but not essential)
- 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role (group, audit or large multi-entity environment advantageous)
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
- High attention to detail and pride in accuracy
- Advanced Excel capability and confidence with financial modelling
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- A proactive, curious mindset and willingness to take ownership
