Icon Group is seeking an experienced and commercially minded leader to step into this pivotal role of Commercial Lead. This is an opportunity to influence national strategy, shape supplier partnerships, and strengthen our position in the rapidly evolving Australian hospital compounding and pharmaceutical market.

In the newly created Commercial Lead role, you will be instrumental in driving commercial performance across the organisation. You’ll support major strategic initiatives, lead commercial modelling, and guide the business through changes in PBS funding, reimbursement structures, and market dynamics.

This is a permanent full-time role, based at our Melbourne office. Your work will directly impact financial performance, operational efficiency, and long‑term growth. You’ll collaborate closely with senior leaders across Commercial Operations, Procurement, Finance, Quality and Operations to ensure alignment and execution of key business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial forecast modelling, PBS change modelling, and market planning.
  • Identify strategic alliances and supplier synergies to enhance financial performance.
  • Monitor and respond to shifts in the Australian hospital compounded products and services market.
  • Drive process and system improvements across commercial operations.
  • Identify efficiencies with wholesalers and support procurement optimisation.
  • Review and report on the effectiveness of major business initiatives and tenders.
  • Ensure alignment of commercial initiatives across all stakeholders.
  • Manage key supplier relationships and negotiate favourable commercial terms.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
  • Tertiary qualifications and significant post‑graduate business experience.
  • Considerable procurement and logistics experience in the Australian hospital pharmaceutical or medical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of oncology, TPN, analgesics, and compounded hospital products.
  • Deep understanding of PBS, including EFC and Section 100 medicines.
  • Advanced financial and commercial modelling skills.
  • Strong procurement capability and supplier negotiation experience.
  • Excellent communication, business acumen, and strategic thinking.
  • Experience in data modelling or working with large data sets.
Preferred:
  • Business management qualifications.
  • Exposure to compounding principles and practice.
