General Manager - 5D Clinics Australia

We’re looking for a General Manager (GM) to lead the rollout and subsequent operational success of an exciting new Cyberknife service.

Conventional cancer treatment modalities such as surgery and traditional radiation therapy often cannot achieve the precision required to target tumours and lesions with the utmost accuracy. With its advanced precision and non-invasive treatment capabilities, Cyberknife is poised to improve treatment outcomes for patients across the eastern seaboard of Australia. Our vision is to re-imagine stereotactic radiation treatment care standards and increase patient accessibility to a six-star health care experience in targeted Australian states.

Our roadmap takes a considered and staged approach to building new Cyberknife services across Australia, commencing in Melbourne, ensuring we meet and exceed all quality and personnel standards.

To bring this technology to the places needed most across Australia, 5D Clinics and Icon Group have constructed a new entity that will serve to leverage each of our strengths and expertise; ultimately providing the most efficient rollout and subsequent service at our new centres.

Together, Icon Group and 5D Clinics form this new company: 5D Clinics Australia Pty Ltd

Reporting to the Board, the General Manager will establish and manage operations across multiple locations nationally, ensuring the delivery of high-quality cancer treatment services, while maintaining compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.

The General Manager is responsible for managing the delivery of all aspects of the business to meet strategic, clinical, quality, people, safety and financial performance targets.

About the General Manager Role:    In conjunction with the Board, the GM will develop and implement a comprehensive national rollout strategy and a masterplan of works to facilitate the delivery of clinics in each target state. The initial stages will have a heavy project based focus, before moving to a dual and ongoing operational and further project management remit, ensuring excellence at newly opened sites while continuing to oversee new site builds.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Rollout:
  • Establish timelines, milestones and KPIs to monitor rollout progress.
  • Recruit and onboard high calibre key personnel and site managers to successfully lead the operations of each site.
  • Lead and influence a multidisciplinary team to ensure the operational delivery of clinics on time and within budget.
  • Achieve and maintain accreditation and licencing requirements.
  • Lead our commitment to quality improvement and achievement of accreditation, including leadership of relevant meetings and committees.
  • Be the ‘face’ of Cyberknife, by representing the company at industry events, conferences and other relevant forums to enhance the visibility and credibility of the service.
  • Design and begin to establish a high performing patient centred culture for the operational phase of the business.
  • Manage vendor relationships.
  • Working with the board and within the clinical governance structure, ensure operational policies, procedures and standard operating procedures are established, clinic staff are trained, and deliver compliance and consistency across all sites.
  • Working with the Board, recruit and onboard VMOs and assist them to build their Cyberknife practices, utilising referrer engagement and business development support as appropriate.
Operational Stage:
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of operations to lead and mentor site managers and site based executive teams to deliver quality service and agreed operational outcomes and business case targets.
  • Inspire service excellence and cultivate a patient focussed culture and a work environment that ensures individual potential can be met.
  • Drive high standards by tenaciously working to deliver goals, defining success by goal achievement and continuous improvement.
  • Initiate and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders and potential partners– including doctors of various specialties– to advance understanding of business issues, identify new opportunities, and enhance the ability to achieve business goals.
  • Maintain a collaborative and collegiate relationship with the Board and provide consistent and transparent communication about business activities to all team members, as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the development of a strategic plan, implementing commercial strategies for growth and revenue optimisation.
The GM will be responsible for providing regular reports to the Board on the progress of the national rollout, operational performance, financial status, and key performance indicators; with high collaboration to develop and implement strategies to address challenges, mitigate risks, and capitalise on opportunities.
