About the Role
We’re seeking a compassionate and organised Medical Administration Officer to join our dedicated team at Icon Cancer Centre Toowoomba on a 9-month part-time contract, working Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a key member of our administration team, you’ll help ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for patients and support our medical professionals with:
- Front desk reception and secretarial duties for a large group of doctors.
- Rotating early and late shifts across your scheduled days.
- Managing incoming calls and patient enquiries.
- Processing payments and finalising appointments.
- Preparing clinics by ensuring test results are available.
- Welcoming patients and updating personal details and referrals.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and managing waiting room flow.
- Liaising with admissions teams regarding treatment changes and eligibility.
- Supporting workplace health and safety initiatives.
- Upholding and promoting Icon’s values and vision in every interaction.
About You
You’ll bring a warm, professional approach and a passion for patient care, along with:
- Experience with Medicare, DVA, and private health insurance.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- A commitment to delivering outstanding service to patients and colleagues.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology.
About our Toowoomba Centre:
Located within St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital, Icon Toowoomba proudly provides radiation oncology services for residents of the Darling Downs, Western Downs and the greater Southwest Region, complementing the existing medical oncology service provided within St Andrew’s Cancer Care Centre. It is a well-integrated, dynamic service with a strong focus on high quality, patient-centric care.
