This new centre offers a unique opportunity for a passionate and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead the nursing team in this exciting new facility.
About the Role
This leadership role will see you manage and support nursing teams, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and clinical excellence. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our new Gamma Knife service, featuring the cutting-edge Elekta Esprit system.
Reporting to the Site Manager, you’ll foster a positive and collaborative work culture, drive continuous improvement, and ensure optimal resource management across the centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate evidence-based, patient-centred care.
- Care for patients with light sedation and fixed cranial frames in place.
- Provision of advanced patient-centred cancer care.
- Provide clinical and professional guidance to multidisciplinary teams.
- Collaborate with site staff to improve patient satisfaction and service delivery.
- Manage physical, human, and financial resources effectively.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and development of nursing staff.
- Develop rosters that optimise skill mix and support training needs.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders including education, quality, and research teams.
- Ensure adherence to national policies and safety/quality standards.
You are a compassionate and proactive nurse leader with a strong background in oncology nursing, ideally with experience in radiation oncology. You thrive in dynamic environments, lead with empathy, and are committed to delivering the highest standard of care. You’ll bring excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for innovation.
Skills & Experience
- Current AHPRA registration.
- Post-graduate nursing/management qualifications (or working towards) highly regarded.
- Experience in oncology nursing, ideally in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Proven leadership experience in a clinical environment.
