A rare opportunity for an experienced pharmacist keen to advance their career in the site leadership and management space. We are looking for the next Pharmacist in Charge at the brand-new Slade Pharmacy Adeney Private Hospital.
About the Role
We are looking for a Pharmacist in Charge to join our supportive Slade Pharmacy team at Adeney Private Hospital in Kew. This is a great opportunity for a pharmacist who is ready to take the next step into a leadership role while remaining hands-on in-patient care and dispensary operations.
You will oversee the day to day running of the onsite pharmacy service, ensuring safe, timely and high-quality medication supply for the hospital’s theatres, ward and day oncology unit. You will work closely with nurses, doctors and hospital staff to support a smooth and positive patient experience.
This role is ideal for someone looking to build confidence in leading a small team within a modern and growing private hospital. You will be supported by experienced leaders across Slade and Icon Group and will have access to strong training and development pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily dispensary operations and ensure safe and accurate medication supply
- Provide clinical input and counselling to patients as required
- Coordinate workflow, dispensing activity and stock management within the pharmacy
- Liaise with hospital nurses, doctors and allied health staff to support patient care
- Maintain accurate PBS claiming and patient account processes
- Support a positive team culture and contribute to continuous service improvement
About You
You are a proactive and patient focused pharmacist who is ready to take on a role with greater responsibility. You enjoy working collaboratively with hospital teams and feel confident making day to day decisions to keep pharmacy services running smoothly.
You bring a practical, solutions focused approach and a genuine commitment to high quality patient care. You do not need prior management experience. What matters most is your willingness to step up, learn and support those around you.
Skills and Experience:
- General registration as a pharmacist with AHPRA
- Previous experience as a pharmacist in an Australian or New Zealand hospital or community setting
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a close knit team
- Organised, adaptable and comfortable managing competing priorities
- A positive attitude and passion for delivering safe, efficient and compassionate pharmacy services
