Regional Procurement Pharmacist


We are expanding in the ASEAN region and are looking for a Regional Procurement Pharmacist.  The role will lead the procurement transformation with key objectives in cost effectiveness, strategic partnering with suppliers and operational efficiencies in supply chain. The role combines the technical expertise of pharmacy with the business acumen needed for procurement and supply chain management. The role will focus on acquiring goods and services, including but not limited to pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, while also contributing to the growth and efficiency of the organisation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the deployment and effective utilization of procurement processes and systems within the ASEAN region.  Champion effective communication strategies to ensure alignment and compliance with procurement processes.
  • Generates impact and commercial value through partnering with stakeholders to support business priorities using category strategies, programs and processes, and identifying opportunities for growth via new products, services, or partnerships.
  • Ensuring the timely and efficient workflows in the entire process of identifying needs, sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing inventory.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, assessing their performance, and ensuring compliance.
  • Manage risks associated with procurement activities, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, local laws and ethical standards.
  • Leads change linked to digital transformation, including deployment of procurement platforms.
  • Oversees the daily operations of central purchasing and inventory management.
  • Reviews institutional drug formulary and evaluates all new drug listings.
  • Manage stocktake analysis and provide reports to management on the data analytics.
  • Collaborate with clinical operations in developing seamless end to end procurement processes.
  • Maintain the Wholesale and Import licence with HSA, and ensure that it complies to Good Distribution Practice.
  • Ensuring that all procurement activities are compliant with relevant regulations and standards including Ministry of Health (MoH) and Health Sciences Authority (HSA).
Job Requirements
  • Registered Pharmacist with SPC
  • At least 5 years' experience in drug procurement and supply chain management
  • Experience in oncology is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills, negotiation skills, and analytical problem-solving skills
