Slade Health is a leading national sterile compounding service with high quality standards and a commitment to excellence. Our technology teams play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing AXIS and related systems that underpin safe medication preparation.

About the role 
As a Software Engineer in the GMP Systems team, you will support the development, enhancement and maintenance of AXIS, AXIS related applications and the DADA framework. Your work will help ensure these systems continue to meet operational requirements across Australia and New Zealand, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of compounded medicines. 

The role is offered as a 13-month contract to cover a period of leave, with flexibility for a hybrid working arrangement in Melbourne or Sydney.

Key responsibilities 
  • Design, develop and maintain secure, high performance and maintainable code across internally developed AXIS and the DADA framework
  • Ensure all software meets compounding and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to technical documentation, improving clarity and usability
  • Write and maintain tests to support code quality and system reliability
  • Work closely with QA to identify defects early and support high quality releases
  • Collaborate with team members to support ongoing improvements and alignment to business priorities
  • Provide technical input into system integration activities, including configuration, testing and integration planning
  • Participate in peer reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Other tasks as required to support team outcomes 
About you

Skills and experience
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years software development experience across the full SDLC
  • Proficiency in Java and modern development frameworks
  • Strong experience in backend technologies such as Java and Spring Boot, and frontend frameworks such as AngularJS, ReactJS or StencilJS
  • Solid SQL development skills
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and working in regulated environments
  • Testing experience including unit testing, integration testing and automation
  • Design and system architecture understanding
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Working experience incorporating AI tooling and capability across the SDLC will be highly regarded
