The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated Accounts Receivable Officer to join our team based in our South Brisbane head office.
This role is well suited to an experienced customer service professional who enjoys helping people, thrives in a high‑volume phone environment, and is looking for the stability of permanent, full‑time work within a healthcare organisation.
What You’ll Do
As an Accounts Receivable Officer, you will be the first point of contact for patient billing enquiries. You’ll support patients to understand their accounts and assist with outstanding balances in a sensitive and empathetic manner.
While the role does involve occasional low‑level debt follow‑up, this is limited to advising patients of minor arrears rather than active collections.
Key responsibilities
- Responding to a high volume of patient account enquiries via phone and email
- Managing day‑to‑day administrative tasks relating to customer accounts
- Monitoring and following up on outstanding accounts and payments
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Processing invoices and performing basic account reconciliations
What You’ll Bring
This role requires the ability to manage a high volume of incoming patient enquiries, primarily over the phone. There will be times when your day is almost entirely focused on responding to these queries. Full training is provided but prior experience in high-volume customer telephone service environments is essential.
Essential requirements
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in customer support roles
- Demonstrated experience handling high-volume and complex phone queries
- Strong communication skills with an empathetic approach, particularly in sensitive healthcare scenarios
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritise competing tasks
- Permanent Australian working rights
Bonus points
- Customer support experience in the healthcare, banking or insurance.
Benefits You’ll Enjoy
- Access to Novated Lease Options: Pay for your car, rego, insurance, fuel, and servicing with pre-tax earnings.
- Rewards Portal: Discounts and cash-back on experiences, travel, dining & shopping.
- Fitness Passport Program: Gain unlimited access and great value across an extensive choice of fitness facilities.
- Employee Assistance Program: Access confidential external counselling and support services. Talk about work, money, family and everything in between with extensively trained professionals.
- Development Pathways: We love hearing how we can help you thrive in your career! Set individual goals with leaders across the business and we’ll help you grow with us.
- Online Courses: Free access to an abundance of online courses in both clinical and non-clinical categories.
- Paid Parental Leave and Purchasable Annual Leave: Supporting you both personally and professionally.
