In this role, you’ll lead and coordinate patient intake, scheduling, billing and front‑of‑house services across both Icon Cancer Centres in Cairns.
What you’ll be doing
  • Providing day-to-day supervision, coaching and support to the Administration team
  • Working closely with the Administration Team Leader to coordinate timely patient appointments and deliver high-quality reception services
  • Stepping in to assist or relieve other roles within the team to keep services running effectively
  • Processing Medicare and private billing
  • Ensuring accuracy of patient medical records and maintaining privacy standards
  • Applying Medicare guidelines to manage referrals accurately
  • Using relevant MBS item numbers for Radiation Oncology and medical billing
  • Using Excel, Word and Outlook confidently
  • Delivering a high level of customer service for patients and families
  • Encouraging a collaborative, feedback-driven team culture
  • Communicating with patients and families in a friendly and compassionate manner
About you
You may be an experienced Administration Manager or someone ready to take the next step into leadership. What matters most is your proactive attitude, your warm and personable approach, and your commitment to providing exceptional service. You’ll role model Icon’s values and help build a confident, engaged and supportive team.
Skills and experience you’ll bring
  • Experience leading a team in healthcare is welcomed, but not essential
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (favourable, not essential)
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to plan, coordinate and organise workloads
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritise effectively
  • Experience delivering training or supporting team skill development
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with patients, doctors and other stakeholders
