About the Role
We are seeking a permanent part-time Pharmacy Technician to join our supportive and friendly Slade Pharmacy team at Epworth Private Hospital Geelong. In this unique role, you will have the opportunity to perform the duties of both a pharmacy or dispensary technician and a pharmacy assistant across a hospital and retail pharmacy environment.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced pharmacy technician or dispensary technician looking to transition into hospital pharmacy, or for an experienced pharmacy assistant who is keen to move into dispensing and further develop their skills. Candidates with prior experience working in a pharmacy environment will be highly regarded, and training and support will be provided to help you succeed in a hospital setting.

This is a permanent part-time role working a rotating roster across a fortnight. This includes approximately 32 hours one week and 38 hours the next week, with rostered Saturday shifts every second fortnight. Days may vary, providing flexibility across the roster.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the sale of S2 and S3 medicines while displaying an appropriate level of knowledge
• Dispense medications under supervision for hospital inpatients and outpatients
• Assist customers with general queries, including liaising with hospital staff
• Replenish stock and assist in maintaining inventory levels both in the pharmacy and throughout the hospital
• Counsel customers on over-the-counter medicines as appropriate
• Process orders
• Assist the pharmacy team with other ad hoc pharmaceutical duties

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a pharmacy setting is highly desirable
• Dispensing experience is preferred, however experienced pharmacy assistants looking to move into dispensing are encouraged to apply
• Pharmacy technicians or dispensary technicians keen to transition into hospital pharmacy are strongly encouraged to apply
• Can-do attitude with a willingness to learn
• High level of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Commitment to excellent customer service
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong time management and organisational skills

About Epworth Hospital Geelong
Epworth Geelong, part of the Epworth Healthcare network, is a growing private hospital with approximately 170 beds. It offers a comprehensive range of specialties including oncology, surgery, general medical care, intensive care, coronary care, renal services, sub-acute rehabilitation, pain management, ophthalmology, respiratory care, palliative care, and outpatient IVF services. The hospital also features a medium-sized retail pharmacy providing a seven-day service to outpatients and the wider community.
