The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time pharmacist to join our team as a Team Lead at the state-of-the-art Northern Beaches Hospital. You will oversee the delivery of clinical pharmacy services to the hospital, provide support and training to relevant pharmacists, and ensure that all pharmacy activities are completed to a high standard whilst supporting the quality use of medicines. This role will report directly to the Deputy Director of Pharmacy (DDOP). 
  
This role is offered on a12‑month fixed‑term contract to cover a period of parental leave.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate clinical training and support to pharmacists
  • Liaise with DDOP and other Team Leads to review the weekly clinical pharmacist roster
  • Organise and contribute to the weekly CE roster for clinical pharmacists
  • JMO and Registrar orientation each term – alternate with other Team Leads
  • Policy and procedure development
  • Other tasks delegated by DDOP or DOP
  
About the Site
Northern Beaches Hospital is a 488-bed hospital providing care to public patients and is transitioning to the Northern Sydney Local Health District from April 292026. The hospital has a 50 bed Emergency Department, 14 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter labs, 4 procedural rooms and provides a comprehensive range of surgical services, critical care and intensive care services. The hospital also has Maternity, Paediatric, Renal, Cancer Care, Mental Health and Antimicrobial Stewardship services.
  
The Epic team at Northern Beaches is situated in the foyer of the hospital and has 39 full-time-equivalent staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Our team is split between the dispensary and the wards with pharmacists providing a full clinical service to all inpatient wards of the hospital. 
  
About You
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
  • Have a current pharmacist registration with Pharmacy Board of NSW
  • Have demonstrated effective management and leadership skills to promote teamwork and efficient performance within a specific unit or function of a hospital pharmacy department
  • Have evidence of prior mentoring or clinical teaching
  • Be able to demonstrate a proven ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and work with physician groups to affect change in policies and practice
  • Have time management, communication and teamwork skills
  • Be flexible and adaptable working with a diverse team
  • Embrace change and commit to learning
  • Value attention to detail and able to work autonomously
  
Essential requirements:
  • Previous experience in an Australian based hospital, as well as previous demonstrated leadership/management experience.
