What You’ll Do
As a Senior Pharmacy Technician, you’ll be part of a collaborative team while assisting in leading and training our dynamic pharmacy technician workforce to deliver high-quality patient care and service across Northern Beaches Hospital.

Key responsibilities:
  • Support the daily operations of pharmacy dispensary, including retail services, dispensing, prescription collection, delivery, and patient counselling
  • Assist in supervising, training, and supporting other Dispensary Technician, and provide feedback on team performance.
  • Ensure accurate dispensing, billing, and PBS claim processing, including management of owing prescriptions
  • Oversee daily reports (dispensing and errors) and resolve issues as required
  • Triage and escalate patient account queries and complaints to appropriate personnel
  • Contribute to compliance requirements, including QSCPP and NDSS
  • Support roster coordination, workload allocation, and overall service efficiency
  • Assist with inventory control, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement of processes
  • When required, provide cross-support to the Oncology pharmacy team
  
Shift information:
  • Monday to Friday, with variable shifts between 8:00am and 6:00pm
  • Requirement to work at least one public holiday shift per year
  
About the Hospital
Northern Beaches Hospital is a 488-bed public hospital. The hospital has a 50 bed Emergency Department, 14 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter labs, 4 procedural rooms and provides a comprehensive range of surgical services, critical care, and intensive care services. The hospital also has Maternity, Paediatric, Renal, Cancer Care, Mental Health, and Antimicrobial Stewardship services.

The Epic team at Northern Beaches is situated in the foyer of the hospital. Our team is split between dispensary and wards, with pharmacists providing a full clinical service to all inpatient wards of the hospital. 
  
About You
You are an experienced Pharmacy Technician ready to take the next step into a senior role. Hospital experience is highly desirable but not essential as we’ll provide training to support your transition, but you’ll need strong dispensing experience to ensure a confident start.
  
Essential requirements:
  • Australian working rights, valid for at least 12-months
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience in dispensary roles
  • High level of professionalism, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  
Bonus points for:
  • Experience working in hospital pharmacy
  • Proven experience in mentoring or supervising roles
