Charge Radiation Therapist – Cairns, Far North Queensland

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Radiation Therapist to step into a senior clinical leadership role within one of Australia’s most progressive regional radiation oncology services.  
  • Senior clinical leadership role across planning and treatment
  • Advanced regional service delivering IGRT, IMRT, VMAT, DIBH, SGRT, SRT and SABR techniques
  • Excellent REM + 5 Weeks Annual Leave + PD Allowance
  • Permanent role with flexibility to consider full-time or part-time applicants
  • 9-day fortnight available for full-time applicants  
Working closely with the Clinical Lead Radiation Therapist and multidisciplinary team, this role will provide day to day clinical leadership, operational support and mentorship across the radiation therapy service.
  
The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting workforce capability, maintaining high clinical standards, optimising workflow and contributing to ongoing service innovation across both treatment and planning environments.
  
Things you’ll be doing:
  • Provide visible day to day leadership, support and mentorship to the Radiation Therapy team.
  • Deliver high quality radiation therapy treatment and planning services for patients.
  • Support efficient and patient-centred workflow management across treatment and planning.
  • Active involvement and leadership in developing the local radiation therapy service.
  • Liaise with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate sound clinical judgement and decision-making abilities.
  • Contribute to implementation of new technology, workflow improvement initiatives and staff training.

You are a motivated and collaborative Radiation Therapist who enjoys supporting others and contributing positively to team culture. You bring strong technical capability across both planning and treatment, communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary environment and are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care.
  
You thrive in a dynamic clinical setting, demonstrate initiative and are committed to ongoing professional development and service improvement.

Skills & Experience:
  • Current General Registration with AHPRA as a Radiation Therapist
  • Current Queensland Radiation Use Licence
  • Demonstrated experience in contemporary radiation therapy planning and treatment delivery
  • Demonstrated leadership capability or readiness to step into a senior clinical role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to patient-centred care and high clinical standards
  • Ability to support quality improvement initiatives and adherence to clinical protocols
  • Experience with Varian systems and advanced techniques highly regarded
  • Professional indemnity insurance as required by AHPRA
