What You’ll Do
Unlike traditional locum work, this role offers the security of permanent, full-time employment. When not providing relief coverage, you’ll be primarily based at Newcastle Private Hospital.
  
You’ll support the following sites across the Hunter & Mid-Coast network:
  • Epic Pharmacy Newcastle – Newcastle Private Hospital
  • Slade Pharmacy Maitland – Maitland Private Hospital
  • Slade Pharmacy Lingard – Lingard Private Hospital
  • Slade Pharmacy Toronto – Toronto Private Hospital
  • Slade Pharmacy Hunter Valley – Hunter Valley Private Hospital
  • Slade Pharmacy Forster – Forster Private Hospital
  • Slade Pharmacy Taree – Mayo Private Hospital
  
This role provides exposure to a wide range of pharmacy services, including clinical and oncology pharmacy, with strong support and training from experienced teams.
  
Key responsibilities (may vary according to site):
  • Conduct medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation
  • Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products
  • Coordinate patient medication requirements for inpatient stay, day infusions and discharge
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients
  • Support patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
  • Educate and advise staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the proper use of medicines
  
About You
You are a versatile Pharmacist who thrives in new environments and enjoys travel. Your strong communication skills and ability to adapt make you a great fit for this unique and varied role. Newly registered and Community Pharmacists are encouraged to apply as hands-on training will be provided.
  
Essential requirements:
  • AHPRA Pharmacist registration, with no restrictions on practice
  • Current drivers’ licence and roadworthy vehicle fit for purpose
  • Ability to commit to a frequent travel role
  • Flexibility to support occasional weekend shifts
  • Permanent Australian working rights
  • Personal Indemnity insurance
