Radiation Oncologist – Icon Cancer Centres, NSW

Reporting to the Director of Radiation Oncology, supported by Icon’s extensive doctor network, and working closely with local clinical/operational teams, the primary purpose of this role is to provide high-quality, evidence-based Radiation Oncology services (consultation, treatment, and all associated clinical care) to Icon Cancer Centre patients.
Icon Maitland is located within Maitland Private Hospital, sitting halfway between the award winning Hunter wine area and the beautiful Newcastle beaches, Icon Maitland proudly provides radiation oncology services for residents of the greater hunter region. Opening in 2021 and thriving ever since, it is a well-integrated, dynamic service with a strong focus on high quality patient-centric care. It is highly regarded and a source of pride within the community. Icon Maitland also offers outreach consultation clinics in both Nelson Bay and Singleton.
Icon Maitland cares for a broad mix of patients and presentations with the latest radiotherapy techniques and equipment as standard including VMAT, DIBH, SGRT, IGRT and stereotactic capabilities. There are established local multidisciplinary team meetings as well as robust, doctor-led governance structures and close links to all other Icon sites therefore colleagues, support, and collaboration are readily available. We are part of an extensive network of cancer centres throughout the country and draw on the experience, knowledge, and support of this large network of clinicians to offer quality local treatment.
About the Person We Will Hire:
Icon is committed to providing the highest-level cancer services to our patients and referrers. We are looking for a highly motivated Radiation Oncologist to uphold and deliver that commitment.
You will be someone who thrives in a close-knit multidisciplinary environment, working effectively with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure our patients receive exemplary care at all points throughout their experience with Icon.
This role is perfect for a clinician seeking to maintain a well-rounded, generalist skillset and care for a variety of patient presentations rather than being limited to single tumour streams. Mandatory Requirements:
- Current Registered Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
- Sub-speciality training in Radiation Oncology holding the Fellowship of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Radiation Oncologists (RANZCR)
- The right to live and work in Australia
- Compliance as a healthcare provider with credentialing and compliance requirements such as immunisation, insurance etc.
