The $30 million cancer care facility opened in November 2018 to address Adelaide’s ageing population and provide increased medical oncology and haematology services for the community in Adelaide’s north eastern corridor. It is estimated South Australian cancer incidences will increase by 31% over the next 15 years with an indication that over half of all patients are likely to require radiation therapy treatment.
Icon will provide patients with radiation therapy treatment for all cancer types. Since opening, the centre in Windsor Gardens, Icon has been delivering the latest in chemotherapy and treatment for blood disorders to the people of Adelaide.
“World Cancer Day is a time to stand together and make a real difference. With more people being diagnosed every year, we feel our mission to reduce the impact of cancer by delivering the best care possible to as many people as possible has never been more important.” said Icon Group Chairman and Founder, Stuart Giles.
