We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Bruno Bosco as General Manager of 5D Clinics Australia.

This is an exciting milestone in Icon Group and 5D Clinics’ joint venture focused on increasing accessibility to CyberKnife technology across Australia’s East Coast, with the first centre set to open in Melbourne by mid-year.

Bruno brings more than 15 years’ experience working across clinical and operational leadership at Icon to this role. Starting his career as a radiation therapist, Bruno understands the needs of clinicians and has a strong commitment to advancing radiation therapy technology and increasing access to state-of-the-art treatments.

His leadership has been instrumental in driving exceptional patient outcomes, significant business growth, and a high-performing team culture.

In his most recent position as Site Manager at Icon Cancer Centre Wahroonga, Bruno has continued to nurture Icon’s longstanding partnership with our co-located hospital, the Sydney Adventist Hospital. This centre has been recognised as the top outpatient cancer treatment facility in New South Wales for seven consecutive years, reflecting Bruno’s exceptional leadership and understanding of healthcare partnerships.

Other notable achievements under Bruno’s leadership include implementing the Varian Ethos adaptive therapy system, with the centre being the first in the Southern Hemisphere to deliver AI treatment and establishing innovative patient services including a Skin Cancer Check Clinic.

Icon Cancer Centre CEO, Paul Fenton said Bruno is well-positioned to lead this new service.

“Bruno’s deep understanding of healthcare operations, strategic planning, clinical excellence and commitment to quality service delivery makes him the perfect fit to lead our 5D service,” Paul said.

“His leadership will be pivotal in realising this joint venture and expanding access to precision medicine across Australia’s eastern seaboard.”

5D Managing Director, Greg Hutchinson emphasises the need for more CyberKnife centres in Australia.“Adoption of CyberKnife technology in Perth has gained significant momentum over the past decade and it is now an integral part of the fabric of cancer treatment in the West,” Greg said.

“Up until now, patients from the east coast have had to travel for treatment so we feel news that CyberKnife clinics are to be established by the Joint Venture on the eastern seaboard will be very well received.”

Bruno is looking forward to being part of Icon and 5Ds growing partnership.

“CyberKnife is a proven and advanced treatment with really positive results – it should be more readily available to more people and communities,” Bruno said.

“I’m really excited to start this next step in my career and work alongside the 5D team to deliver a best-in-class service and improve patient outcomes for those in need.”

Bruno will commence his new role on 10 March 2025.
