Extending our commitment to South Australian healthcare

Icon Group’s compounding arm, Slade Health first won sole supplier for chemotherapy in 2016 extending to all categories (chemotherapy, antibiotics and analgesic) in 2019. This new agreement, awarded through a public tender process, recognises to the exceptional service Slade provides to over 30 public hospitals in SA Health which span metropolitan and regional areas.

Best-in-class services

This extension further highlights our commitment to South Australia with our purpose-built TGA licensed facility in Woodville. Now in its third year the facility delivers more than 650 compounded products a day, totalling 53,000 essential medications and 8,000 deliveries across the state to public and private facilities. Our South Australian offering complements our facilities in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Auckland, cementing our position as market leaders.

CEO of Pharmacy and Compounding, Russell Hill said this reflects Slade’s market-leading reputation.

“This extension highlights the strong trust we have built over the years with our hospital partners and continues our commitment to the region,” said Russell.

“Our proven processes and dedication to producing the highest quality products across our network of TGA-licensed facilities allows us to deliver state-wide contracts and service over 200 hospitals across Australia and New Zealand.”

Excellence in healthcare

This year the Slade brand celebrates 60 years of delivering pharmacy and compounding services and continues to focus on innovative solutions leading the way in specialised pharmaceutical services.

Slade’s unparalleled reputation was a key factor in Icon Group’s acquisition of UK’s Pharmaxo Group, a leading pharmaceutical specialist manufacturer and clinical homecare provider – reflecting strong confidence in the group’s compounding capabilities.

“Our priority is always to our customers and patients, and it’s that focus that has allowed us to grow from strength to strength,” said Russell.

“It that focus that means we can help bring more care, to more people, closer to home.”
