Icon Cancer Centre Bali treats first patient

Icon Writers / 07 May, 2025

A significant milestone as we mark the first patient treatment at Icon Cancer Centre in the new Bali International Hospital.

The state-of-the-art centre is Bali’s only private radiation oncology facility and marks the first time international doctors can practice in Indonesia.

It’s a significant step forward in Icon’s ability to deliver the best possible care to more people across the ASEAN region – building on our reputation in Singapore and improving patient outcomes and access to cancer care in Indonesia.

Cancer is the second leading cause of death among non-communicable diseases in Indonesia with a growing need to increase access to care.

Our partnership with Bali International Hospital brings together Icon’s in-depth expertise in oncology and local knowledge of healthcare and hospital management to provide comprehensive end-to-end cancer care.

Last week the team had the privilege of treating Mr John Batterbee, who has basal cell carcinoma.

John was able to receive his radiation therapy treatment on the latest technology delivered by a highly experienced local team and supported by our global network of clinicians, clinical teams and governance.

The centre will begin medical oncology services in mid-May, continuing to deliver the latest integrated cancer care, closer to home.
