The Opportunity
As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will provide a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service, support quality use of medicines, delivery of education to our multidisciplinary team, and provide medicines information to patients and carers. You’ll have the chance to develop and utilise your clinical pharmacy skills to have a genuine impact on lives of our patients.

Kempsey District Hospital is an 81-bed level three facility with a level four 24-hour Emergency Department and a range of specialist services including, high dependency, general medicine, surgical day procedures, obstetrics, drug and alcohol, mental health, renal dialysis, and rehabilitation.
 
About the Role
In this role you will manage workload of wards and dispensary. You will be responsible for:
  • Conducting medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation
  • Dispensing and supplying medication and pharmacy products
  • Coordinating patient medication requirements for inpatient stay, day infusions and discharge
  • Developing and maintaining professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients
  • Supporting patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
  • Educating and advising staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the quality use of medicines
Our full-time roster Monday to Friday is 8:30am – 4:30pm.
  
About You
As a current AHPRA Registered Pharmacist with Australian based pharmacy experience, you will demonstrate:
  • Team orientated attitude
  • Focus on delivering exception service and care to patients
  • Ability to manage your own workload with good communication skills to effectively liaise with a wide range of health professionals
  • Passion for building on your clinical skills and knowledge
