About the Role
As a Clinical Pharmacist at Mater Private Hospital Townsville, you will provide hands-on clinical pharmacy services, supporting patient care and working closely with a multidisciplinary team. This is the perfect environment to sharpen your skills and gain experience that will open doors to future opportunities.
  
Mater Private Hospital, Townsville (Pimlico) is a 200-bed leading contemporary medical facility, including a dedicated Women’s and Children’s Units, an Emergency Department, and the largest private cardiac presence north of Brisbane.
  
Your Duties
  • Deliver comprehensive clinical pharmacy services in a hospital setting.
  • Conduct medication history interviews and reconciliation at transitions of care.
  • Provide medication counselling and education to patients.
  • Monitor medication outcomes and manage adverse drug reactions.
  • Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals to provide the best patient care.
  • Participate in training sessions for pharmacy, medical, and nursing staff.
  • Support quality use of medicines through various audits and projects.
  
Our full-time roster runs Monday to Friday with one short weekend shift every fortnight—giving you ample time to enjoy the stunning outdoors. Alternatively, we offer a flexible work arrangement if you decide to take on part-time employment.
  
About You
Whether you’re a newly registered pharmacist eager to dive into the world of hospital pharmacy or someone with experience in a community pharmacy looking to make a transition, we would love to hear from you. We provide full training and support to ensure your success.
  
To be considered for the role, you will need
  • Current AHPRA registration as a pharmacist.
  • Experience working in an Australian pharmacy setting.
