The Opportunity
We are seeking a casual Pharmacist to join our Slade Pharmacy team based in the prestigious St. Stephen’s Hospital in Hervey Bay. You will be part of an innovative multidisciplinary team committed to making a positive impact on the lives of patients in the local community by delivering exceptional pharmacy services.

In this role, you’ll work in a fully integrated digital hospital, with responsibilities in both the hospital dispensary and direct clinical involvement with patients. Collaborate closely with a team of allied health professionals and doctors to make a meaningful difference in patient care.

About the Role
As a Hospital Pharmacist, you will provide leave and weekend coverage for our pharmacy team. This casual position offers a flexible work-life balance, allowing you to attend to personal matters while maintaining a fulfilling career.

Your key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation.
  • Dispensing and supplying medications and pharmacy products.
  • Managing patient medication needs during inpatient stays, day infusions, and discharges.
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders to ensure outstanding service to patients and clients.
  • Providing support and education to patients, carers, and hospital staff.
  • Advising on health promotion, disease prevention, and the proper use of medications.
Work Schedule:
  • Weekdays: Up to 7.5-hour shifts (school hours possible)
  • Saturdays: 4-hour shifts.
  • Sundays: 3-hour shifts.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be an AHPRA-registered pharmacist with experience in an Australian pharmacy setting. You will have a team-focused mindset, a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care, and strong communication skills to collaborate with a diverse group of healthcare professionals. Attention to detail, self-motivation, and a passion for continuous learning are essential.
  
To be successful, we require that you possess:
  • Current AHPRA registration as a pharmacist.
  • Relevant experience working in an Australian pharmacy setting.
