The first step in this partnership sees a collaboration at Nuffield Health Cancer Centre London (CCL), and during 2024 will explore further growth opportunities within the Nuffield Health network across the UK.

Icon Group delivers cancer care in the United Kingdom via a strategic partnership with Nuffield Health.
In late 2023, Icon Group and Nuffield Health, the United Kingdom’s largest healthcare charity announced a strategic partnership to deliver oncology services in the UK.
The CCL partnership means that while the Wimbledon-based centre remains under the Nuffield Health ownership, brand, operational management and clinical governance, the Health System Director at Nuffield Health and the leadership team at CCL now work closely with Icon Group’s Executive Manager Strategic Growth and National Operations Manager (UK)/Group Director of Radiotherapy to identify priority areas to enhance and invest in the UK service.
This includes investment in:
- Radiation therapy technical capability and expertise
- Patient experience
- Clinical leadership and training

Combining local expertise with Icon’s proven integrated care model and leverage a global network of cancer professions to provide quality care and reduce the global cancer burden.

Claire Smith – National Operations Manager

Claire Smith is an experienced radiation therapist with an extensive clinical and management skillset across the development, planning, and operational implementation of both public and private radiation oncology departments in Australia, the UK and China. Claire has held numerous leadership roles at Icon, including Group Director of Radiation Therapy where she developed a robust global radiation therapy network to deliver the highest quality treatments through innovative training and education. As National Operations Manager for the UK Claire provides strategic direction and leadership to our cancer centre division in the UK, overseeing efficient operations and assessing opportunities to drive our success in the region. |
