Our goals

While we’re at the beginning of our ESG journey, we’ve set ambitious goals. Our targets will be achieved by integrating ESG considerations into our decisions and actions each day, ensuring ESG principles are integrated into every facet of our operations, reflecting our dedication to sustainability, equity, and ethical governance.

We aim to:

For our Patients

  • By 2027, achieve 50,000 cancer care connections in at risk communities
  • By 2027, achieve a patient NPS of 97 points (pts) or higher

For our People

  • By 2027, achieve a Global eNPS score of 90pts or higher
  • By 2027, achieve a Global DE&I NPS of 95pts or higher

For our Planet

  • Reduce our scope 1 and 2 Greenhouse Gas emissions by 42% by FY30 from an FY23 baseline year*
  • Scope 3 – 73% of Icon’s suppliers by emissions covering purchased goods and services will have set SBTs by FY28 from an FY23 baseline year*
    • To achieve this scope 3 target we will engage with our major suppliers that account for 73% of total purchased goods and services emissions and get them to set a Science Based Target by FY28. These emissions equate to 68% of Icon Group’s total scope 3 emissions.
  • By FY27, achieve a 50% reduction in general and medical waste sent to landfill, globally

Governance

  • By 2027, Icon will access sustainability linked funding

*Planet high-level emissions measures and SBTi targets are based on operations that are in the defined Boundary Scope of Icon Group based on the aspect of ‘financial control’. These include all Cancer Services, Slade Health, Research, Head Office, and Icon-owned Pharmacies. Icon Group has confirmed its commitment with the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and will commence a validation process for our targets.

How we will deliver

In many cases, delivering on our ESG commitments is capturing programs and activities we’re already doing as well as embarking on new projects.

These targets will be achieved by integrating ESG considerations into our decisions and actions each day.

This means showing our commitment to being a good corporate citizen and doing the right thing across all aspects of our operations and care. Early examples include:

Patient – working to expand cancer awareness, clinical competency and access, and quality care for at risk communities through digital tools, education programs, partnerships and training, employee and community fundraising.

Planet – committing to our decarbonisation roadmap in order to achieve our near-term Science-Based Targets. Set up and divisional and local initiatives for recycling, reduction, and re-use.

People – providing our teams with diverse, inclusive and attractive working environment to deliver the best care possible through our Employee Led Inclusion Groups (ELIGs), engaging professional development programs and learning opportunities.

Governance – providing repeatable and transparent reporting.

With long and short-term goals to strive for, we are committed to leaving a positive difference through sustainable healthcare for our people, our patients, and our planet.
