Read on to learn more about Kaushik and what he hopes to achieve as our new Site Quality Manager.

A career in Quality Management

Kaushik started his Quality career with Slade Health in 2016 at Slade Health Mount Kuring-gai as a Quality Control Technician. His dedication and expertise quickly earned him a Quality Assurance Associate role in our Quality Systems department and eventually Production Supervisor.

“After a year in the Quality Assurance Associate role, I wanted a more holistic and better understanding of Slade’s operations, so I transitioned to Production Supervisor and enjoyed the fast pace and people management side of the business,” Kaushik explained.

“My curiosity grew, and I wanted to develop my skills more – which led me to apply for a pharmaceutical manufacturing company, only to be taken back to Slade Health to join as a Quality Specialist as the quality system team grew.

“Now, the next stage of my career has started as a Site Quality Manager, and I’m excited about all the growth opportunities ahead.”

Finding his purpose

A career in the pharmaceutical industry was always on the radar for Kaushik.

“I love how dynamic the industry is with ongoing research and advancements in medications, treatments and process improvements. The nature of this work has drawn me to stay as it’s enjoyable to continually learn and adapt to new developments and apply this knowledge to patient care,” Kaushik said.

“Knowing we can significantly impact patient health and well-being is the most rewarding aspect of my job.”

Leading our iconic teams

Leading our compounding and quality teams has been a great career highlight for Kaushik – helping their careers flourish so they can continue to provide exceptional care.

“I love working alongside and growing others within the company and then seeing them move onto roles such as Production Supervisor and Quality Associates – taking a step forward in their career. It’s so special,” Kausik expressed.

Kaushik’s iconic leadership is not only seen in his love for developing his team members but also attested through awards and has been nominated by his peers and listed as finalist in Icon Group’s Annual Awards.

Creating a better future of quality healthcare

Kaushik envisions a stronger focus on quality for the future, ensuring safer patient care and opening more career opportunities in pharmacy and compounding.

“Over the next five to 10 years, I see the quality management field continually improving and playing a larger and larger role in Icon’s mission,” Kaushik said.

“Since 2016, I have seen how much the quality department has grown and the positive impact it has had, being able to provide safer care for patients and more career pathways – hopefully something which will encourage more health professionals into the industry.”

Ensuring operational excellence in site quality Kaushik says we must uphold a few skills to ensure the highest quality standards in our work.

“My advice for ensuring quality assurance in our work is clear communication, active listening, and a willingness to collaborate and learn from one another.

“These are simple yet important concepts to live by to continually grow to help improve our product quality and patient safety.”
