Annie Nguyen

Icon Group’s 2025 Middleton Scholar

Passionate about quality care – building nursing excellence across borders

Annie’s journey in oncology nursing spans over a decade, marked by dedication, compassion, and a drive to continually improve cancer care.

She has over a decade of experience in oncology nursing and began her career with Icon Group at Icon Cancer Centre Mount Elizabeth in 2018 as a Staff Nurse. In this role she quickly built a reputation for her clinical expertise and patient-centred care. Her commitment was recognised in 2021 when she was recognised in Icon’s Annual Awards as winner of the Nurture Value Award, celebrating her ability to support and uplift both patients and colleagues.

In 2022, Annie stepped into her current role as Nurse Manager, Implementation and Quality, where she leads the introduction of new practices, training initiatives, and clinical workflow improvements across Icon’s cancer centres in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

“Nursing is such a dynamic and multifaceted field that involves a strong sense of process combined with a deep understanding and dedication to care,” Annie reflects.

“It’s about ensuring every patient, no matter where they are, experiences the same high standard of compassionate, quality care.”

Her work requires balancing clinical excellence with operational leadership, ensuring standards are consistent across borders.

“When I see our teams grow in confidence and capability through training and quality initiatives, it’s a reminder of how important our roles are,” she shares.

“And when we have strong, well-supported nurses that’s felt directly by our patients and their families.”

Annie’s academic achievements have helped shape her leadership and career. She holds a Bachelor of Nursing from Curtin University Singapore, a Postgraduate qualification in Oncology from Newcastle University, UK, and an MBA from Roehampton University, UK.

Annie is looking forward to connecting with colleagues across Icon’s Australia network, sharing knowledge and learning more about best practices and patient safety.
