Icon Group has announced plans to open a state-of-the-art integrated cancer centre within the Revesby Workers Club precinct in south western Sydney.

A fantastic innovation, the facility brings together medical oncology, haematology and radiation oncology under the one roof. Equipped with the latest technology, the centre will deliver a true end-to-end service that accommodates all aspects of patients’ cancer treatment.

Icon Group’s CEO, Mark Middleton, reinforced the significant positive impact that such a facility will have on the lives of cancer patients in the area, granting unprecedented access to this level of care services.

“Icon Group remains committed to offering comprehensive, world-class cancer care to local communities throughout the country and that is exactly what this new centre will provide. The integrated care centre at Revesby will ensure the people of Sydney’s west have access to exceptional treatment facilities within their local community,” Mr Middleton said.

“Quality of care will be maintained by an experienced multidisciplinary team of leading medical professionals that strive to cater to the needs of each individual patient. This is a crucial component of care for patients required to undergo concurrent radiation and chemotherapy treatment programs.”

Icon Group continues to expand its international footprint and has firmly established itself as a global leader in cancer care, endeavouring to provide equity of access to areas most in need.

Having successfully implemented a centre of this kind in North Lakes in Brisbane, the facility at Revesby Workers Club is part of a plan to introduce more of these state-of-the-art facilities around Australia.

Development for centres in Melbourne and Canberra is currently underway, with Bundaberg recently opened and further centres to be announced.

Ed Camilleri, CEO of the Revesby Workers Club, was thrilled to report the newly formed partnership with Icon Group and said the community of western Sydney deserved access to these innovative health care solutions.

“This development will complement Revesby Workers Club’s investment in an extensive medical precinct to support the local community,” Mr Camilleri said.

“The facility will undoubtedly benefit countless local residents, who would otherwise have to travel further to receive exceptional treatment of this standard.”
