The awarding of this five-year contract recognises Slade’s strong commitment to patient care, innovation, and a proven track record of delivering quality, best practice digital and clinical pharmacy services.
The brand and current incumbent of UCQ’s pharmacy services is Epic, which, like Slade Pharmacy, is also supported by Icon Group’s experienced pharmacy services team.
The transition of service to Slade Pharmacy will see Icon Group continue to support the management of these pharmacies underpinned by the same team, systems and processes. This means a seamless transition for hospital staff, doctors and patients.
The service will transition to Slade Pharmacy on 1 December for The Wesley Hospital, Buderim Private Hospital, St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital and St Stephen’s Hospital in Hervey Bay.
Our pharmacy team has been providing services to the hospitals since 2017, and over the past five years the team has delivered exceptional pharmacy services for the UCQ campuses.

One of several innovations is ChartFlow mobile, an advanced online medication ordering tool that enables nursing teams to send medication orders directly from a patient’s bedside to the hospital pharmacy, displaying the progress of medication dispensing on a nurse dashboard in real time.
“It’s these digital solutions, coupled with the Slade’s proven knowledge of hospital services that ultimately made them our preferred provider. UCQ are proud to partner with Slade Pharmacy and Icon Group, to ensure best practice pharmacy services for the wellbeing of our patients.”
